A big thank you to all who participated in the Fall Workday on September 30, 2013! Approximately 60 Friends and neighbors attended this event and contributed their time toward improving the Greenview and Pioneer Nature Areas.
With your help, we were able to spread wood chips on the trails and weed the Edible Garden. You may notice that the central pathway and surrounding clumps of buckthorn have now been cleared. Also, a number of dead ash trees have been removed.
Work has continued on Frog Meadow with additional clearing of invasives and native grasses have been planted (these areas are marked with orange flags). Once an appropriate habitat has been created along the fringe areas of the pond, the Northern Leopard Frog will be re-introduced.
