Oaks and Chestnuts Planted at Greenview

Over the past few years, 23 three oak trees and three chestnut trees have been planted near S.Seventh St.

The trees form an oak and chestnut grove for this portion of the nature area and help to frame pathways near the pond.

The trees were purchased under a grant program provided by DTE Energy foundation and by a grant from Women’s National Farm&Garden Association – Ann Arbor Branch.

The trees were planted by volunteer members of the Friends of Greenview and Pioneer Nature Area.

The Friends of Greenview and Pioneer Nature Area will continue plantings of native trees in the nature area. Please watch this website for postings on our progress.
